Radiology depts to get PACS technology at 8 health institutions in Oman

Muscat: The Directorate General of Health Services in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate has announced the addition of electronic PACS (picture, archiving and communications system) technology for radiology departments at eight health institutions in the governorate. This is the first of its kind in the Sultanate in health care services.

This technology aims to develop and improve diagnostic services and will contribute to linking radiology departments with one storage template. This system is implemented in eight health institutions in order to prepare an integrated medical system linking hospitals with health centres to follow up and store radiological images, exchange medical consultations and prepare medical reports.
