Malabar Gold & Diamonds distributes 50,000 meals to those affected by Cyclone Shaheen

Muscat: As Cyclone Shaheen causes havoc across several areas in Oman, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the largest jewellery retailers globally has initiated relief activities by distributing food kits to those affected by the cyclone.

This CSR initiative, distributing 50,000 meals to families and bachelors residing across the severely affected areas including Al Khaboura, Suwaiq and Bidiya, is being spearheaded by the team members of Malabar Gold & Diamonds.

Najeeb K, Regional Head, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, and Muhsin met with Sultan bin Humaid bin Mohammed Al Hosni - Majlis A'Shura Member- Representative of Al Khaboura to discuss the situation and evaluate the requirements of those affected.

“We would like to express our deepest sympathy to those suffering from the impact of Cyclone Shaheen. CSR remains a core value at Malabar Gold & Diamonds since its inception in 1993. We are hoping this initiative would ease the current circumstances of those suffering from the aftermath of the cyclone. We wish the earliest possible recovery and pray for earliest restoration of the affected areas," said Najeeb.

The food kits contain essential supplies, including staples, lentils, oil, and spices and will serve a 4-member family for one week.
