Honourable Lady sponsors launch of Rifi

Muscat: The Honourable Lady, Spouse of His Majesty the Sultan presided over the launch ceremony of the rural women’s product funding organised at the House of Musical Arts, Muscat in the presence of  a number of members of the Royal Family,  ministers and undersecretaries yesterday.

The launch of the product is in cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Oman Development Bank. The product funding programme aimed to support and encourage the culture of female entrepreneurship at the rural areas in the various Governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The product would also contribute to empowerment of women in the various production, manufacturing and marketing fields and would enhance the role women play in development of the rural communities and improve the income of families and their economic and social standard of living.

A video presentation on the product was screened during the ceremony. The presentation also included an inspiring story of success of a young Omani lady.

The Honourable Lady also acquainted with samples of pioneering rural projects and products, when she toured the exhibition accompanying the event. She was also briefed on the various items and products on display. Honourable Lady praised the initiatives of women in this field.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Honourable Lady was presented with a commemorative gifts, given away by the CEO of Oman Development Bank.
