Muscat: The Environment Authority has arrested expats for burning piles of wood for the purpose of producing packed charcoal for distribution and sale.
The authority said in a statement :"The Environment Department in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police and the Municipality of South Al Batinah arrested expatriate workers who were burning piles of wood in order to produce tonnes of packed charcoal ready for distribution and sale in the markets. The legal procedures are completed against them. "
