Oman held to a 1-1 draw by Iraq

Doha: The match between Oman and Iraq in the FIFA Arab Cup Championship ended in a 1-1 draw in Doha on Tuesday.

Salah Al Yahyaei scored for Oman from a penalty kick and Iraqi player Hasan Abdulkarim scored from a penalty kick for his team. The match was played at the 40,000 capacity Al Janoub Stadium, one of the stadiums to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.

The first half of the match ended in a 0-0 draw despite several attempts from both teams to score. During the second half, Mohsin Jawher missed a scoring chance in the 52nd minute.

The coach of Oman's national team made three substitutes during the match. Abdullah Fawaz played instead of Mohsin Jawher; Al Munther Al Alawi was replaced with Esam Al Subhi and Jamil Al Yahmadi replaced Arshad Al Alawi. Coach of the Iraqi team also made three replacements. In the 76th minute, Salah Al Yahyaei scored from a penalty kick and Hasan Abdulkarim scored for the Iraqi team from a penalty kick to end the match in a 1-1 draw.

Oman national team comprised Ahmed Al Rawahi (Goalkeeper), Jumah Al Habsi, Ahmed Al Khamisi, Ahmed Al Ka'abi, Amjad Al Harthi, Hareb Al Saadi, Salah Al Yahyaei, Mohsin Jawher, Jamil Al Yahmadi, Mohsin Al Ghassani and Al Munther Al Alawi.
