Muscat: As part of the direct effects of the trough, governorates of Muscat and Al Dakhiliyah are witnessing rain with continuous flow of clouds over most of the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. There are chances of heavy rain later, says meteorology.
The Directorate General of Meteorology said in it’s latest update: "The activity of convective rain clouds continues over the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi and North Al Batinah, with rainfall of varying intensity in parts of the Governorate of Muscat. Cloud formation continues on the Al Hajar Mountains and adjacent areas, with the flow of high and medium clouds over most of the Sultanate's governorates."
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said in Weather Alert (2): "Heavy thundershowers, rainfall amounts up to 30-80 mm over some areas. The thundershowers will be accompanied with fresh downdraft winds, hail precipitation and flow of some wadis (flash floods) in the Governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat , Al Dakhliyah, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah."
