The Zubair Corporation, together with Bait Al Zubair Museum, organised a special programme for its employees and staff and families of its group companies. Entitled, “Discover Oman”, the programme provides a unique opportunity for invitees to delve into and learn more about the rich history of Oman, across various time periods. This was conducted through an exceptional visit to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, which hosts a unique collection of antiquities and artifacts that chronicle the historical stages of the Sultanate.
Commenting on the importance of the programme, Hilal Omar Al Siyabi, Head of Corporate Services at The Zubair Corporation, said, "The “Discover Oman” programme aims to bring together different generations, especially the youth and familiarise them with ancient Omani history and historical eras. Together with Bait Al Zubair Museum, we took the employees of the Corporation and subsidiaries, as well as their families, on an introductory tour to enhance their knowledge of the national history of the Sultanate. Since Bait Al Zubair Museum is one of the notable cultural facilities that host collections and antiquities dating back to different periods of Omani history, it supports the enrichment of knowledge of every visitor, with regard to the journey that built this proud nation.
“The organisation of this programme stems from the framework of the Corporation’s vision need to strengthen the citizens' culture of belonging to their beloved nation, by learning about its vast history over hundreds of years. This also reinforces the strong partnership that we hold between the subsidiaries of the Zubair Corporation, which is a reflection of our joint teamwork,” Hilal added.
Fahad Al Hasni, Museum Curator & Exhibitions Manager of Bait Al Zubair, said, “We are pleased to host the employees of the Zubair Corporation and its subsidiaries, as part of the “Discover Oman” programme. This included an expansive tour of the various museum facilities to learn more about The Sultanate’s various historical stages, in addition to a heritage workshop on ancient Omani heritage.”
“Through our cooperation with the Zubair Corporation, we seek to attract the largest number of employees during the upcoming period. We believe that it will be a truly enriching experience across all levels,” Fahad added.
Bait Al Zubair Museum includes a wide range of Omani heritage heirlooms, some of them dating back centuries. This museum was established to support efforts to preserve and promote rich Omani heritage among the new generation. Today, Bait Al Zubair museum houses the largest private collection of Omani artifacts, furniture, artwork, costumes, coins, stamps and maps. It also provides a range of service facilities, including the Saffron Café, and a gift shop inspired by the Omani heritage.
