Muscat: People who are fasting cannot donate blood during fasting hours so as not to negatively affect their health.
"Fasting people are not allowed to donate blood at the time of fasting so as not to affect their health. They can donate blood after Iftar. Donors are advised to drink a lot of fluids before and after donating blood," the Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) said in a statement.
The blood donation times at the Central Blood Bank at Baushar during the holy month of Ramadan are from 7:30 pm until 11.30 pm every day and in morning from 8 am till 12.30 pm from Sunday to Thursday.
