Oman's Heritage Ministry wins 'Prince Sultan bin Salman Award'

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has won two awards in His Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman competition for Urban Heritage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the first prize for the Research Department was awarded to two engineers, Thuraya bint Said, and  Asma bint Hilal Al Kharusi, for the project of the documentation of heritage lanes in the Sultanate in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University.

The second prize was won by Ali Al Adawi for the Historic Mosques Conservation Department for the project to restore Al Sharja Mosque in the Wilayat of Nizwa in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate .

The Prince Sultan bin Salman Award for Urban Heritage, which is specific to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, aims to preserve and care for the architectural heritage and to clarify innovative ways to invest in it.
