Food Safety and Quality Centre confirms the contamination of some peanut butter products of the (Jif) brand.

Muscat: The Food Safety and Quality Centre (FSQC) has warned people that some peanut butter products of the Jif brand contain salmonella bacteria.

"Food Safety and Quality Centre confirms the contamination of some peanut butter products of the (Jif) brand, with operational batch numbers from (1274425) to (2140425) with salmonella bacteria," FSQC said in a statement.

In the interest of the health and safety of the consumer, the centre would like to confirm that it has taken everything necessary to stop importing the aforementioned product at the border ports, and is currently working to ensure that it is withdrawn from the local markets, if any, in coordination with the concerned authorities and examining other operations.
