Muscat: Timely intervention and advanced care saves patient life at Aster Hospital Ghubra. A 36 year old gentlemen (Identity of patient is kept confidential on patient’s request) with no previous comorbidities was found unconscious in the garden. Aster Hospital’s agile ambulance team brought him to the ER. The multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Dilip managed to treat him in no time. His heart rate was 186/minute when he was connected to an ER monitor with spiked fever of 41 degrees since night and had altered sensory abilities.
Quick lifesaving critical care measures including airway management, quick antipyretic measures and a sepsis protocol was initiated right from the ER as per novel recommendations. The advanced radiology department findings deemed him to have severe sepsis with shock and multi organ dysfunction including myocarditis, acute kidney injury, and post-ictal phase (post seizure).

The ER & ICU team's aggressive approach helped this young patient to recover from Sepsis, Septic shock, and multi-organ dysfunction over a few days. Patient recovered fully and was discharged in sound health within a week.
