Muscat: Majlis Al Shura held its first session of the fourth annual convening of the ninth term on Sunday.
Majlis Al Shura discussed a number of issues including the draft cooperation agreement in sea shipment and ports between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the draft agreement on air transport between the government of Oman and the government and the draft agreement on avoidance of double taxation of income tax and tax evasion between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Khalid bin Hilal Al Mawali, Chairman of the State Council said that the opening of the fourth regular convening of the ninth term of Majlis Al Shura was based on the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the provisions of the Basic Law of the State and the Law of the Council of Oman.
Majlis Al Shura discussed a proposal on the draft law on amendment of Article (1) of the Law on Anti-money laundering and financing terrorism.
Majlis Al Shura reviewed the report of the Economic and Financial Committee on the actual condition of mining sector, a draft law on the Law of SMEs and the Draft law on income tax on personnel drawing high incomes, a draft law of planning, the draft law of public debt, the draft law of school education and the law of higher education among other issues.
The session also acquainted with the draft general budget of the state 2023 and the draft law regulating water and wastewater sector.
