Muscat: Here is what is happening across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

National Day event held in North Al Batinah Governorate

A national women's event was held yesterday evening in the Wilayat of Liwa, North Al Batinah Governorate, in the multi-purpose hall of the Liwa Women's Association.

The celebration included popular performances of traditional Omani arts, a poetic and chanting event, in addition to the operetta "Oman Al-Izz" and a display of the various traditional Omani costumes that characterise the governorates and wilayats of the Sultanate. This celebration comes within the Sultanate's celebrations of the 52nd National Day. 


Over 700 Omani job seekers are competing for 36 government jobs in Al Dhahirah Governorate

The Ministry of Labour has started tests and personal interviews for the typical jobs that are filled with personal tests and interviews for job seekers to fill the vacant jobs in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

The number of competing jobs reached 36 in the government sector, while the number of competitors reached 704 job seekers. The tests were conducted at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate, in the presence of specialists from government units and the Ministry of Labour.

The job opportunities offered for competition in government units in the governorate include vacancies in the Ministry of Education, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Environment Authority, the Consumer Protection Authority, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Health.

Labour Ministry conducts recruitment tests in Al Buraimi Governorate

The Ministry of Labour at the headquarters of the Vocational College in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi conducted a number of electronic tests for applicants from Al Buraimi Governorate to fill a number of jobs in some government agencies in the governorate.

The number of competitors reached 469, competing for 28 positions in a number of government agencies in Al Buraimi Governorate, which are the Buraimi Governor’s Office, the Directorate General of Education, the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Consumer Protection Department, the Environment Authority, the Directorate General of Health Services, the Department of Social Development, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The jobs offered varied between part-time work, legal researcher, environmental systems supervisor, graphic design specialist, systems specialist, investment promotion researcher, complaints researcher, treasurer, legal researcher, graphic designer, social worker, and computer specialist. Noting that some jobs were offered for competition between the sexes.
