Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized more than 1,000 adulterated products at an establishment working in the field of selling veterinary products in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate.
The Consumer Protection Department in South Al Batinah Governorate in Barka, represented by the Inspection and Market Control Department, in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, seized an establishment working in the field of selling veterinary products violates the consumer protection law and its executive regulations, and manipulates the dates of expired products and replaces them with other valid dates. It also sells other expired products.
The inspection and market control team, in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, conducted inspection visits to the governorate’s markets, where the institution was caught selling and trading adulterated products due to the change in their validity dates and replacing them with new ones, in addition to selling expired goods, some of which date back to 2017. Where 900 products were seized whose validity dates were changed by placing a sticker with other new dates, and 109 expired products were seized. Accordingly, the Department took legal action against the violators.
