More than 100 percent of its targeted 35,000 job opportunities in the public and private sectors have been achieved by the ministry last year, the Minister of Labour said on Sunday. Dr. Mahad Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, said that the number of jobseekers who joined the labour market for the first time crossed the 20,000 mark and the number of employees who availed the Benefit of Job Security increased by about 3,000 in 2022, compared to 2021. In the meeting with the governors, the Minister of Labour stated that the number of job seekers until the end of last October amounted to more than 85,000 in the Sultanate of Oman.
