Muscat: The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Muscat has opened a book for condolences and launched a relief campaign in aid of the people affected by the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6, 2023.
The embassy said: “We would like to thank everyone who sent messages of condolences and support to our Embassy after the devastating earthquake that took place in Türkiye on 6 February, 2023. We would like to announce the opening of a book of condolences at the embassy of the Republic of Turkey on 8, 9 and 12 of February between 10:00 to 13:00 hours. The Aid-in-kind campaign has been launched under the coordination of our Embassy to be delivered to our citizens affected by the earthquake."
The embassy added: “The aid materials are expected to be delivered in a box with a list of contents to the Embassy Residence at Shatti Al Qurum, Way: 3019, Building: 1622, Muscat. The donations collected will be conveyed to the earthquake zones via Turkish Airlines.”
The list of materials needed in this context includes winter clothes, food boxes, baby formula, diapers, cleaning and hygiene products and women hygiene products.
