7 magnitude earthquake recorded in Tajikistan

Muscat: An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 has been reported in Tajikistan, said the Earthquake Monitoring Center (EMC) on Thursday morning, February 23, 2023.

The EMC at Sultan Qaboos University announced that it has recorded an earthquake in Tajikistan with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale at 4:37 am.

In this week, the EMC at Sultan Qaboos University had earlier announced that it had recorded two earthquakes, one in South of Iran with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale and a depth of 10 kilometers (kms), 194 kms away from Wilayat of Khasab. The second on Sunday, with a magnitude of 4.1 had occurred in Duqm, at 7:55 am.
