Muscat: Speedo Mixers claimed the second edition of the Joyalukkas Exchange & Instant Cash Women’s Volleyball Tournament, which was held at the Bausher Club recently. The championship is held annually to celebrate the International Women’s Day.
In the final, Speedo Mixers beat Mixers 2-0 for the title. Muscat Blazers completed the podium with a third place finish. A total of 20 teams participated and players from ten different nationalities, including Omanis, were in action.
In the semifinals, the Mixers beat Slasher and Speedo Mixers defeated Muscat Blazers.
Baslin was named the Most Valuable player while Mara was adjudged the best setter. Lara was declared the best spiker, Joice was named the best blocker and Maryam won the best server of the tournament.
Sariyah Al Hadiyah, Member of the State Council, was the chief guest and handed over the prizes.
Earlier, Nixon Baby, Joyalukkas Exchange general manager, welcomed the guests at the inaugural ceremony that was attended by Mary Antony Jos, Joyalukkas Group director, and Anjali Menon, chief business officer.
