Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman witnessed heavy to moderate rains in most of the governorates on Monday evening, March 27, 2023 which led to the flow of valleys.
The governorates of North Al Batinah, Musandam, Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah are currently witnessing heavy rains, including the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah and South Al Batinah.
Heavy rains led to the flow of valleys this morning. Wadi Ahin overflew in the Wilayat of Sohar in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, which is the largest valley in the Wilayat. Wadi Wasit and Sahban in the Wilayat as well, as well as Wadi Shavan and Wadi Al Sarmi and Wadi Al-Hawasneh in the Wilayat of Al-Khaboura in Al-Batinah North Governorate.
Heavy rains were witnessed in the Al-Dhahirah Governorate on the Wilayat of Ibri, Dhank and Yanqul, which led to the flow of Wadi Majzi, Wadi Al-Kabir, and Wadi Al-Ain in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al-Dhahirah Governorate. The flooding of the Falaj Al-Sudairiyyin Dam in the Wilayat of Yanqul led to Wadi Falaj Al-Sudairiyyin overflowing in the Wilayat, including Wadi Al-Maaden.
As for the Dakhiliyah Governorate, Wadi Al-Sulail and Misfat Al Abrieen overflew in the Wilayat of Al-Hamra.
An official from the Oman Meteorology confirmed to Times of Oman that the governorates of North and South Al Batinah will witness heavy to moderate rains this morning, the Governorate of Muscat may follow.
