Muscat: Temperatures in the Sultanate of Oman approach 50 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature was recorded on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 was in Fahud, Al Dhahirah Governorate.
“The desert and mountainous areas and parts of the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman witnessed a noticeable rise in the maximum temperatures, ranging from the middle to the end of the forties yesterday,” Omani Meteorologist said in a statement.
According to Oman Meteorology, Fahud station recorded 49.0 degrees Celsius as the highest temperature among all the weather stations during the last 24 hours, followed by Hamra Ad Duru which is also located in the same governorate with 48.7 degrees Celsius and then Sunaynah station in Al Buraimi Governorate with 48.6 degrees Celsius. Abri station, Al Dhahirah Governorate was recorded 48.0 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in the Zamaim station, Al Wusta Governorate has reached 47.7 degrees Celsius , 47.2 degrees Celsius in Maqshan station, Dhofar Governorate. While Haima station in Al Wusta Governorate recorded 47.1 degrees Celsius and 47.3 in Saham station, North Al Batinah Governorate.
