Musandam-Oman Sail capsizes, all crew safe and secure

Canada: Musandam-Oman Sail (MOD70) capsized off the coast of Canada during their Transatlantic crossing from Quebec, Canada to Saint Malo, France on Sunday morning.
Oman Sail received a call from the crew aboard Musandam-Oman Sail at 3:05am on Sunday morning where they reported that their boat capsized 450 nautical miles (833.4 kilometers) East of St. Pierre and Miquelon off the coast of Canada.
The crew was on board the boat as the race committee and Oman Sail immediately went out to evacuate the crew and brought them ashore safely.
“The crew are safe and usually when the boat capsizes the team forfeits the race,” said Oman Sail after Times of Oman asked whether they have been disqualified or not.
The five sailors were transferred aboard a cargo ship and they are on their way back to Canada.
“The MOD70 is currently damaged and will not be able to continue the race. So far Musandam- Oman Sail is out of the race,” said Oman Sail.
