Tourism project 'Osara' made from recycled wood opens in Salalah

Muscat : Under the Omani youth management, a recreational tourism project 'Osara' built entirely from recycled wood is being held on Raysut Beach in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate.

The project represents an integrated tourist destination that combines a variety of activities, recreational and cultural events, and relaxation opportunities targeting different age groups.

Majid bin Ali Al Musahli, one of the founders of the tourism project, said that the project includes various programmes and activities to serve visitors and tourists, including: cultural and entertainment events, restaurants and cafes overlooking the sea.

Al Musahli added that the project management has added and improved some recreational activities to enhance tourism services for visitors to the site, most notably: the arrow throwing challenge, shooting with an axe , as well as riding water bikes and boats.

Madinat Bint Ahmed Baamar, one of the founders of the tourism project, said: "The idea of the project has been applied since 2022 in an effort to provide an attractive tourist destination for the development of tourism and the implementation of various projects from the perspective of Omani youth, and to create new opportunities to display the energies and capabilities of youth in the field of tourism and entertainment."

She indicated that the project was built entirely from recycled wood, making the project a unique and environmentally friendly tourism project at the same time.

The founders of the project are looking forward to establishing a recreational area to become an integrated tourist destination that contributes to stimulating the tourism movement in the state of Salalah throughout the year, by making use of the available tourism potentials with more creative and innovative youth ideas.

The "Osara" project was established with the efforts of Omani youth and with the support of the Dhofar Municipality, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and the Port of Salalah, in the framework of encouraging and developing youth initiatives, as well as providing opportunities for local brands of restaurants, cafes and productive families to participate in the operation of the project.
