Hamburg: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is taking part in the Seatrade Europe, specialising in cruise and river cruise industry.
The Ministry aims, through its participation in this event, to enhance its promotional efforts and to meet with companies operating international cruise ships and decision-makers.
The conference witnesses the participation of CEOs, service providers of the cruise ships and yachts sector, and representatives of governments and tourism companies.
The Ministry seeks to develop this type of global tourism in coordination with the government and private sectors and international companies that own and operate cruise ships.
The Ministry also seeks to position the ports of the Sultanate of Oman as an attractive stopover for cruise ships of all sizes by harnessing all capabilities and providing the necessary facilities to attract these ships and yachts to Omani ports.
The cruise ship market represents an important pillar for the growth of tourism, which would contribute effectively to maximising its economic return and enhancing its contribution to augmenting income and diversifying its sources.
The cruise ship season in the Sultanate of Oman and the region in general is active during the winter season from October to the end of April each year.
The ports of Sultan Qaboos, Salalah, Khasab and some other ports attract major international companies operating ships and yachts.
The biennial Seatrade Europe is one of the leading international events for the cruise and river cruise industry.
Collectively cruise lines, regulators, ports, destinations, tourism, shipyards, suppliers, and service providers are charting a course towards a sustainable future.
The 2023 conference theme “Scaling Sustainably” underscores the agenda with discussions taking a deeper dive into navigating both the present and what lies ahead and focusing on the importance of continued reinvention and expansion that is both responsible and practical.
