The National Committee for Emergency Management issued a warning about heavy rains in some Wilayats of Dhofar Governorate and rising water levels in some places, calling on everyone not to venture out unless absolutely necessary in order to preserve their safety.
The Sub-Committee for Emergency Management in Dhofar is dealing with the damage resulting from the effects of the tropical condition Tej, which included a number of areas in the Wilayats of Rakhyut and Dhalkut that witnessed an interruption in electricity service. The response teams are making efforts to ensure that service is restored as soon as possible.
The committee indicated a complete closure of vehicular traffic on the main road near Khor Mughassil temporarily, due to impact from Tej, in addition to the high level of water flowing in the valley in the Adounb area. It called for the following of warnings and instructions issued by all authorities and for not risking lives and property.
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), represented by the Search and Rescue Sector, activated an advanced operations centre in the Sarfit area in the Wilayat of Dhalkut to manage field team operations.
