Muscat - As a part of its social responsibility to local communities and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Oxy Oman recently announced its support of Haima and Ibri hospitals, which are located near Oxy Oman concession areas. As part of the agreement, Oxy Oman is funding the hospitals with the provision of medical equipment, in coordination with the Directorate Generals of Health Affairs in Al Wusta and Al Dhahirah Governorates. Oxy Oman is also assisting Haima Hospital by funding the purchase of an ambulance that is modified to fit the needs of the hospital.
The signing ceremony was held at Oxy Oman Headquarters under the auspices of Qasim Mohammed Al Salmi, Director General of Planning and Studies at the Ministry of Health. The agreements were signed by Ahmed Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Health Services in Al Dhahirah Governorate; Ibrahim Hilal Al Mahrooqi, Director General of Health Services in Al Wusta Governorate; and Steven Lauver, the President and General Manager of Oxy Oman on behalf of their respective organizations.
Haima and Ibri Hospitals are essential regional hospitals that serve patients throughout the local communities in the two governorates. Each hospital provides necessary medical services for the local community, including both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as patients referred from polyclinics and health centers, along with a 24-hour emergency department.
“Oxy Oman is committed to the healthcare and wellbeing of communities throughout the Sultanate of Oman. Our support for Haima and Ibri hospitals, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, underscores our dedication to enhancing healthcare access near our operations. We hope that the provision of vital medical equipment will aid the hospitals in successfully attending and caring for patients throughout Al Wusta and Al Dhahirah governorates,” said Mr. Lauver.
This initiative falls under the umbrella of strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders, and is part of Oxy Oman’s endeavor and long-term commitment to support programs that enhance social and health initiatives in the Sultanate.
