Oman transport: Mwasalat transports 2.1m passengers

Muscat: Oman National Transportation Company (Mwasalat) had transported more than 2.1 million passengers in the Muscat Governorate since the inauguration of its operations on November 22, 2015 until July 2016.
It transported 10,000 passengers per day. The month of July witnessed the highest number of passengers as 300,000 customers used the bus. Ruwi-Maabelah route came first with the highest number of passengers (more than one million) followed by Ruwi–Wadi Al Kabir (more than 600,000), Ruwi– Wadi Adai (more than 200,000) and Ruwi–Al Amerat and Ruwi – Muttrah routes transported 122,000 and 72,000 passenger respectively though they were inaugurated in April 2016.
The company has increased its journeys to Salalah during the festival from three trips to five on a daily basis. It is offering 225 seats daily throughout the Salalah festival along with special offers and charges. Also the company will operate Al Khoudh – Sultan Qaboos University – Burj Al Sahwa route within the third quarter of the current year and inaugurate Muscat – Al Duqum route during the same period. The company had floated a tender for supplying special buses to enhance its current routes and replace the old buses with new ones
