Oman, Mauritania explore means of boosting cooperation

Nouakchott: The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania explored the mutual cooperation relations and means of developing them to serve joint interests.

This came during a political talks session held between Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad. The session was held in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

During the session, the two ministers explored means of boosting business and investment partnership between the two countries’ private sector companies, especially in the sector of fishing, mining, energy, agriculture, logistic connection between the two countries’ ports and tourism.

The two officials exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.

They also stressed their support for efforts aimed at prevailing security, stability and peace throughout the region and the world.

Moreover, the two ministers underscored the importance of continuing international efforts aimed at stopping the Israeli aggressive war on the Gaza Strip in Palestine.

They also underlined the importance of reaching an agreement that guarantees a ceasefire, facilitating the arrival of humanitarian relief aid, the release of all hostages on both sides, and the return of displaced Palestinians to their areas.

The two ministers reiterated the importance of resorting to international law and international humanitarian law and pushing forward efforts to hold an international peace conference in a bid to implement the two-state solution and end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
