Trial operations begin at Khazaen Central Vegetables & Fruits Market

Barka: The trial operations (commissioning ) and commercial activities of the Central Vegetables and Fruits Market commenced on Saturday, as part of the largest national projects in Khazaen Economic City, Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate.

Khazaen Economic City reaffirmed that the Central Vegetables and Fruits Market represents a national and international platform for marketing , import, re-import of vegetables and fruits and a marketing outlet for the local agricultural products of companies and local farmers.

The project would provide commercial opportunities for the SMEs as well as job opportunities for citizens and investment opportunities for the in-country value added, he said.

Salim bin Suaiman Al Zahli, Chief Executive Officer of Khazaen Economic City said that the Central Vegetables and Fruits Market is a national project that is of vital significance in the marketing and; production of vegetables sector and provides investment opportunities for the in-country value added.

The Central Vegetables and Fruits Market accommodates integrated facilities that can develop the logistics and food sector, mainly the wholesale market, the stores, customs inspection platform, food safety lab, and spaces for sale and marketing  local products and administration offices among other facilities.
