Sohar: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in the North Al Batinah Governorate discussed the plans of sectoral committees and their role in addressing the challenges posed to commercial sectors, as well as means to meet the aspirations of the business community in the governorate.
A meeting to this effect was held in Sohar on Tuesday under the auspices of Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the OCCI’s branch in North Al Batinah Governorate.
The meeting looked into preparations for the events to be implemented during the last quarter of this year (2024), including two business-related forums. The first, titled “Reconstruction Horizons Forum”, will focus on mining industries. The second will be the 6th GCC Businesswomen’s Forum.
The meeting approved the operation of trade missions during the last quarter of 2024 (with the aim of increasing the volume of trade exchange and investments), studying other countries’ experiences (in the sectors of food security, industry, real estate development, and mining), organising internal visits to OCCI branches (with the aim of enhancing cooperation and communication, exchanging experiences and successful practices) and discussing common challenges facing the commercial sector.
The meeting approved requests for partnerships with a number of government establishments and private enterprises, with the common objective of better serving members of the public.
