Muscat – In a tragic incident, four people lost their lives, and one was seriously injured after a group of hikers was caught in flash floods in Wadi Tanuf, Nizwa.
According to a statement from the Royal Oman Police (ROP), five members of a 16-person multinational hiking group were swept away by the sudden heavy rains. Among the deceased were one Omani citizen and three individuals of Arab nationalities. One hiker remains in critical condition.
The ROP further confirmed that police aircraft were deployed to transport the injured to Nizwa Reference Hospital for urgent medical care.
