Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University has advanced to the eighth position among Arab universities in the QS ranking for the year 2025, out of 271 registered Arab universities, including 7 Omani universities.
Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation and Supervisor of the Project to Enhance the University’s Position in the World University Rankings, said: "The university’s achievement of this advanced position constitutes one of the most important pillars that highlight its strategic position and role among sister Arab countries, stressing the importance of the university’s sustainability in dedicating the efforts made and continuous improvement in applying the best practices that would serve Sultan Qaboos University’s global ranking. "
Dr. Tariq bin Muhiuddin bin Muhammad Ghulam, Director of the Project to Enhance the University’s Position in the World University Rankings, indicated that this progress confirms that the project is moving forward in the right direction, adding that the most influential aspect of this ranking is communication with employers and researchers cooperating with the university around the world.
A number of the university’s indicators have risen in the QS Arab University Rankings, including: the job reputation index, the student-to-academic ratio index, and the web impact index.
