Beware of electronic fraud, warns ROP

Muscat: A person has been arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) for electronic fraud. 

ROP said in a statement :"The General Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations arrested an Arab national for committing fraud by using a fake website of an official institution with the aim of obtaining the victims' banking and personal data and withdrawing money from their accounts."

The Royal Oman Police advises against responding to anonymous calls and not dealing with any websites unless they are verified as reliable.
