Dar Al Atta’a initiative raises over OMR70,000

Muscat: Dar Al Atta’a celebrated on 28 October the conclusion of its 8th edition of Al Atta Giving Greater Competition at Al Bustan Palace Hotel, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Fahr bin Fatik bin Fahr Al Said, on Monday.

Team Tablil from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences  Nizwa bagged the prize for securing the highest revenues in the competition while the team prize with the most influence on society went to teams Ihya’a and Ma’ad from the University of Technology and Applied Science - Nizwa.

The prize for the most creative team went to Team Bani Al Khair from Muscat College and the prize for the most professional team went to Team Thara from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).

The exceptional prize of the competition went to Team Kahatin from Modern College of Business and Science.

Dar Al Atta'a also honoured Hamad bin Saud Al Busaidi from Team Ghouth and Tamima bint Ali Al Nasseri from Team Burwaz for their great efforts and contributions for their teams.

The 8th edition of Al Atta Greater Competition raised over OMR70, 000 . This initiative of Dar Al Atta'a kicked off in 2012. The initiative focuses on initiation and execution of an idea for a project for collection of donations in favour of the programmes of Dar Al Atta'a through formation of teams from the various universities and colleges.

These teams compete to achieve the targeted goals of the competition which are dissemination of awareness on the significance of voluntary work and encouragement of the youth to involve in voluntary work.

This year, the competition saw the participation of 26 teams from the various universities and colleges of which 14 teams have qualified and

represented the colleges and universities of The University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Nizwa; Sultan Qaboos University ; Modern College of Business and Science; Majan College; Arab Open University and Muscat College ).

The qualified teams competed for the four prizes of the competition which are the prizes of the teams with the most revenues raised; the most influence on society, the most creative and the most professional in execution.

Shaza bint Abbas member of Dar Al Atta'a Association delivered the speech of the organsiation and briefed on its march in charity work.

A video presentation on the stages of the competition was screened along with other presentations on the activities of Dar Al Atta'a and the contributions of its members.
