Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science and Bank Nizwa, in cooperation with Oman National Investments Development Company, on Monday launched 'Ishraq Endowment Investment Fund' with a capital of OMR10 million.
Launching the endowment fund was held under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The Fund offers innovative and promising investment opportunities by facilitating access to investment opportunities that are compatible with Sharia provisions. The Fund supports the financial goals of individuals and companies, and enhances shared responsibility towards community welfare. This initiative is closely aligned with national aspirations to empower society and promote sustainable development.
The Fund aims to enhance the developmental and investment role of the endowment sector in the Sultanate of Oman and positively contribute to sustainable social and economic development through investments compatible with Islamic Sharia.
The fund also allows individuals, companies and endowment establishments to contribute to charity fields and community projects that are consistent with Islamic values. The launch of the fund comes in line with the government’s tireless efforts, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, to support and enhance the endowment investment sector with the aim of supporting comprehensive development and advancing society at all levels.
