Muscat: Taha bin Suleiman Al-Kishry, Secretary-General of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), received Luciano Rossi, President of the International Shooting Federation, at his office on Sunday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the sports field, in addition to reviewing the International Federation’s plans to develop the sport of shooting globally and to expand the base of practitioners.The discussions also addressed future initiatives aimed at supporting athletes and providing opportunities for training and development in this sport..
Al-Kishry commended the significant role played by the International Shooting Federation in the development of shooting, highlighting the importance of establishing a sustainable partnership between OOC and international sports federations to enhance sports performance at both local and international levels.
For his part, Luciano Rossi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception. He reaffirmed the commitment of the International Shooting Federation to providing full support to national Olympic committees in the field of shooting sport. This includes strengthening cooperation in organising international championships, offering advanced training programmes, and supporting the necessary infrastructure to develop athletes.
