Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers received today Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the meeting, the guest minister conveyed greetings and best wishes of the Egyptian leadership to the leadership in the Sultanate of Oman, along with their wishes of further progress and prosperity for the Omani people. The minister underlined the attention accorded by the Egyptian leadership to the distinguished relations with Oman in various spheres. He reviewed the regional developments, stressing the importance of the collaborative efforts to contain their repercussions.
HH Sayyid Fahd welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation. He reviewed march of bilateral relations that stem from the advanced ties binding the two leaderships and peoples.
The meeting dealt with matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on the efforts exerted to peacefully settle regional and international disputes to serve interests of all peoples.
Within the context of the bilateral cooperation, the meeting underscored the importance of activating tasks of the joint committee and intensifying consultations between the two sides on issues of mutual interest.
On his turn, the Egyptian minister lauded the wise and balanced policy pursued by the Sultanate of Oman, as well as its effective role in backing efforts of understanding and positive dialogue among countries in a bid to maintain regional security and stability. He underlined the importance of talks he conducts with the officials in Oman, as they would positively contribute to boosting the joint cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Khalid Mohammed Abdul Halim Radi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman.
