Umrah pilgrims from Oman must get vaccinated, says Health Ministry

Muscat: The Ministry of Health in the Sultanate of Oman has announced that all citizens and residents wishing to perform Umrah must receive the Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (ACYW135). This requirement is in accordance with the regulations issued by the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

To comply with this mandate, pilgrims must obtain a vaccination certificate issued by the Ministry of Health via the Tarassud system. This certificate is valid for five years. The vaccination must be received at least ten days prior to traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The vaccine is available at primary healthcare institutions across all governorates and at specified private healthcare institutions designated by the Ministry of Health for expatriates and residents.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health recommends receiving a single dose of the seasonal flu vaccine before traveling for Umrah. Compliance with these requirements is essential to prevent the spread of infection and safeguard public health.
