Visitors flock to Oman Pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair

Muscat: The Oman Pavilion at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, which continues until February 5 in Nasr City, has attracted hundreds of Egyptian visitors.

Visitors have been exploring Oman's cultural and intellectual heritage, with many inquiries focused on influential Omani historical figures like Al-Farahidi and Ibn Majah, as well as questions about Omani historical and archaeological sites such as forts and castles.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's pavilion has also seen a large turnout from those eager to learn about Oman's most famous tourist cities and their historical, cultural, and touristic attractions.

Key questions from visitors to the "Heritage and Tourism" pavilion included inquiries about Omani identity and culture, the tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and the significance of these elements to Omanis. Visitors were particularly interested in traditional industries such as the Omani khanjar (dagger), its historical and symbolic value, and its representation of Omani authenticity and social values in the Arabian Peninsula.
