Oman-India Business Forum to boost ties

Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) organised on Tuesday the Oman-India Business Forum.

The event was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

The forum aims to establish sustainable cooperation based on active participation, innovation and benefiting from strength points of the two countries’ economies. It also targets expanding investment opportunities and joint Omani-Indian projects.

Moreover, the Oman-India Business forum focused on a spectrum of economic fields, such as chemicals, power electronics, engineering, manufacturing, construction, ICT services and consultations, communications, solar energy, health, agriculture, food security, infrastructure, water treatment, tourism, art, culture and durable electrical consumer goods.

Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry underlined the importance of the Oman-India Business Forum as a strategic platform that brings together business leaders and investors from Oman and India.

The forum, he added, also constitutes an opportunity to open up new vistas of growth and development for the business relations between the two countries.

He noted that the forum focuses on main economic sectors that are considered as growth accelerators.

The OCCI Chairman affirmed the commitment of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhancing business partnerships between the private sector in the two countries.

Several B2B meetings were held between businesspeople from Oman and India. The meetings explored available investment opportunities.

The forum was attended by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India and Harsha VardhanAgarwal, President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
