Muscat, 5 Feb (ONA) --- The Sultanate of Oman has affirmed its unwavering stance and categorical rejection of any attempts to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Oman called for the need to respect the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights to establish their independent state on their land.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry today, the Sultanate of Oman warned that any plans aimed at transferring Palestinians from their lands constitute a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. It added that such action constitutes a threat to security and stability in the region.
The Sultanate of Oman called upon the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in protecting the rights of the Palestinian people. It underlined the necessity of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, based on resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative—a solution that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of 4 June 1967, with Al Quds A’Sharqiyah (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
