MUSCAT: South Al Batinah Governorate is set to enhance its tourism and investment landscape with the development of ‘Rimal Park’, an integrated eco-tourism destination featuring an exciting open-air cinema. Located at Al Abyadh Sand in Khabat Al Qa’adan, Wilayat of Nakhal, the park aims to offer visitors a unique blend of natural beauty and modern amenities.

The centerpiece of this ambitious project is a 7,806 square metre (sqm) open-air cinema area, designed to accommodate up to 2,000 guests.

This open-air theatre will provide an unforgettable cinematic experience under the stars, surrounded by the breathtaking natural landscape.

In addition to the cinema, the park will feature an entertainment area of 24,814sqm with five main sections, ensuring a wide range of recreational activities for all ages.

Spanning 225,000 sqm, Rimal Park is strategically located near the main road connecting Muscat to North Al Batinah, making it easily accessible for visitors. The park will also offer camping units, an equestrian school, and various activities aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region.

Masoud bin Saeed Al Hashimi, Governor of South Al Batinah, emphasised that the project represents a significant investment opportunity and aims to transform the area into a premier eco-tourism destination. The park’s location, coupled with its diverse attractions, is expected to draw both local and international tourists.

Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the Rimal Park project focuses on sustainable development and economic diversification. The development is expected to generate employment opportunities, stimulate local businesses, and contribute to the governorate’s economic growth. Valued at approximately OMR6.9 million, the project is set to be completed within two years.

Rimal Park reflects South Al Batinah’s commitment to creating unique environmental destinations that blend modern entertainment with the region’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty.
