Israeli military continues its assault on Tulkarm

Occupied Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces continue their wide-scale assault on the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camps for the 35th consecutive day, as well as on the nearby Nour Shams refugee camp for the 22nd day. The forces have been carrying out raids, home demolitions, forced displacement of residents, and widespread destruction, including the burning of homes.

Since the beginning of the offensive, the Israeli forces have imposed a complete siege on the Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, preventing entry and exit, while continuing to raid homes, vandalize properties, and interrogate residents inside.

In Nour Shams camp, early today, the occupation forces set fire to homes in the Al-Manshiya neighbourhood, with flames seen rising from the buildings. This follows a series of demolitions during which more than 11 homes and their surroundings were destroyed by Israeli forces.

Additionally, Israeli forces forced residents of the Wadi al-Qalansawa neighbourhood in Nour Shams to evacuate their homes, following raids and the use of stun bombs. Soldiers used the residents as human shields, and local sources reported that seven families were ordered to leave their homes.

In Tulkarm refugee camp, Israeli forces raided vacant homes and shops along Al-Wakalah Street, destroying doors and blowing them open. Live ammunition was fired at homes near the Maqtar and Al-Hadidah neighborhoods, aiming to intimidate the remaining residents.

Since the first day of the assault, Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps have witnessed significant displacement, with over 16,000 people, including women, children, the elderly, and the sick, fleeing to shelters and the homes of relatives in the city and surrounding rural areas.

The Israeli forces have directly targeted the city's and camps' infrastructure, destroying roads, water networks, electricity, sewage systems, and telecommunications, making daily life even more difficult for the residents.

Amid the ongoing siege, residents continue to plead for basic necessities, including food, water, medicine, and baby formula. There are also ongoing calls for the repair of water and electricity networks. However, Israeli forces continue to obstruct humanitarian aid teams, preventing them from delivering essential supplies.

In the same context, Israeli occupation forces stormed several neighbourhoods in the city of Nablus this morning, as well as Askar and Balata refugee camps, without any reported arrests.

For the 23rd consecutive day, the occupation forces continue to close the gate at the Jabara checkpoint at the southern entrance of Tulkarm, isolating the city from the villages and towns of Al-Kafriyat and the rest of the West Bank governorates.
