ROP issues clarification on fines, financial obligations of individuals and employers

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has issued a clarification stating details of the exemption from fines and financial obligations for individuals and employers.

A statement by the ROP said, "The Royal Oman Police has closely followed discussions regarding the exemption from fines and financial obligations recorded against individuals and employers. It clarifies that the exemption is for specific cases mentioned in the Ministry of Labour's announcement regarding the status rectification, settlement of fines and financial obligations recorded against individuals and employers as follows:

First: Foreigners wishing to rectify their status by renewing their residency or transferring their services within the Sultanate of Oman will be exempt from all fines resulting from the expiration of their visa and residency card for work permit holders, after verifying the rectification of their status with the Ministry of Labour.

Second: Foreigners wishing to leave the Sultanate of Oman permanently will be exempted from all fines related to the termination of all types of non-work-related visas."

"The Royal Oman Police confirms that it has made all technical systems available to facilitate the completion of transactions, and urges various target groups to take advantage of the pardon period, which continues until Thursday, July 31, 2025."
