Muscat: In a landmark celebration of compassion and commitment to inclusive education, Pakistan School Muscat held its first-ever graduation ceremony for the students of its Centre of Special Education. This momentous occasion, held as part of the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations, was not only a recognition of student achievement, but a powerful tribute to resilience, dignity, and humanity.
The initiative was envisioned and brought to life by Ameer Hamza, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pakistan Schools Oman, as a special tribute to students of determination and their families. This unprecedented event became a defining moment in the school’s history - a ceremony unlike any other, reaffirming the institution’s core belief that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.
The event was graced by distinguished guests and dignitaries. Chief Guest, His Excellency Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, along with the Spouse of His Excellency, Ms. Amna Bokhari, and the embassy officials attended the ceremony. Their presence underscored Pakistan’s national commitment to educational equity and inclusion.
Among the special guests was Rear Admiral Khondkar Misbah Ul Azim, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Oman. In his attendance, he beautifully reflected the warm, brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Also present were Dr. Mahmood Al Alawi, Assistant Director General of Private Schools as the chief guest, and Dr. Abdullah Al Mamri, Representative of the Foreign Schools Department, Ministry of Education ,both strong advocates for inclusive learning within Oman.
The event also welcomed Ms. Daniela Frenzel, a business psychologist, Ms. Arooj, a representative of the Minsitry of Culture and sports and esteemed representatives of the Indonesian Embassy, Ms. Lenny Ardina Dewantri and Ms. Ira Rachmawati, whose presence added international warmth and encouragement to the celebration.
The ceremony began with a heartfelt welcome speech delivered by Anaba Sohail, a student from the Centre of Special Education, who confidently addressed the gathering — embodying the very spirit of empowerment and courage the centre stands for.
This graduation was more than just a ceremonial event. It was a testament to the humility and dedication of the Board Members, educators, parents, and community who have tirelessly worked together to shape and support the dreams of these exceptional students.
