Oman, Hong Kong discuss joint investment cooperation

Hong Kong: Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), met with John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation between Oman and Hong Kong in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, and touched on available opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the two sides.

This meeting took place during Al Murshidi’s current visit to Hong Kong. He praised the existing relationship between Oman and Hong Kong, emphasising the importance of continuing reciprocal visits and enhancing cooperation in areas that serve the mutual interests of both sides.

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong affirmed that Oman possesses an ambitious strategic vision in Oman Vision 2040, which aligns with the "Belt and Road" initiative. This, he noted, contributes to enhancing economic and commercial cooperation. He pointed out that Hong Kong, as a global financial and commercial hub, offers an attractive environment for investments in various sectors, including renewable energy and advanced technologies.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
