Edinburgh: The band of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) has won first place—overall ranking—in the Infantry and Military Discipline Competition held in Scotland, United Kingdom.
The RAO band also merited the award set for the best band from outside the United Kingdom in the Bridge of Allan Championship in Scotland.
Members of the RAO band won advanced places at the individual level in the baton-bearing competition.
Staff Sergeant Nader Jumaan Bait Jabali won the second-place award, while Warrant Officer Mohammed Khamis Al Amri won the third-place award in the 3rd stage of the competitions, which were held in the Scottish town of Bridge of Allan.
Meanwhile, the band of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) maintained its leading record in the bagpipes and drums competition held in the Bridge of Allan town as part of the activities of the Grade Four category of the World Music Competition.
The drum’s team deservedly won first place among seven international bands that took part in this category of the international contest.
