Star (Hamdan Said) Football Academy crowned KAAS U-16 Champions in Salalah

Salalah: In a memorable evening set against the mist and gentle showers of Dhofar, Star (Hamdan Said) Football Academy lifted the KAAS League title in the U-16 category, reaffirming its place among the leading football academies of Oman.

The triumph adds to the academy’s growing legacy, having earlier clinched the Oman Football Academy League (OFAL), a testament to years of hard work, vision, and long-term planning.

The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, in the presence of distinguished guests including Brigadier Said Al Asmi, CEO of Security and Safety Corporation (SSC), Mr. Dina, General Manager of Ford Oman, football legends of Oman, and other high-profile personalities.

As light rain blessed the evening, the academy’s young stars proudly raised the KAAS Cup – a moment etched in gold in the chronicles of Oman’s football.

Academy founder and head coach Hamdan Said expressed his joy, stating: “This achievement reflects not just the efforts of the players and staff, but also carries a message – investment in the grassroots is the true road to the future. We are not only shaping footballers, but raising young men with values.

“Every title is a step forward in building generations of Omanis who deserve to compete at the highest levels.”

The evening was more than just a sports event – it was a celebration of Dhofar, the land of fog, sea, and beauty, which once again showcased its ability to host events of national prestige.

The KAAS League concluded with grandeur, uniting football legends, academies, and fans in a festival of fair competition and professional organization.

The cup presentation was accompanied by a symbolic parade, as Ford cars carried the trophy in front of cheering crowds, adding to the night’s splendor.

Other Winners: Seeb Club Academy dominated the younger categories, winning three titles in U-10, U-12, and U-14 age groups – a performance widely praised by both fans and officials.

Speaking at the conclusion, Dr. Al Ghassani praised the professionalism of the organization, crediting Muscat Media Group for delivering a high-quality event for the second consecutive year.

He also highlighted the dual potential of sports and tourism in Dhofar, affirming the governorate’s readiness to host events of this scale in the future.

As the mist rolled over the mountains and the chants of young champions filled the air, Salalah witnessed not just the close of a league, but the birth of a new sporting chapter – one that promises that “The Star is always there.”
