Muscat: On August 24, 2025, Ukraine celebrates the 34th Anniversary of its Independence, a historic milestone that marked the beginning of a new chapter in the development of a modern European nation, open to the world and committed to constructive international cooperation.
On this auspicious occasion, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Sultanate of Oman conveys its warmest congratulations to the people of Ukraine, our international partners, and the friendly people of Oman.
The Embassy expresses its sincere gratitude for the steadfast support of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and for the shared values that bind our two countries in dialogue, stability, and mutual development.
Diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Sultanate of Oman were established in 1992 and have since witnessed steady growth across a broad range of fields. Since 2009, the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Muscat, headed by H.E. Hani Jumaan Ashour Al Rajab, has played a constructive role in fostering trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties.
The official inauguration of the Embassy of Ukraine in Muscat, during the visit of H.E. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in October 2024, marked a new milestone in bilateral relations. In July 2025, the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Sultanate of Oman was appointed and will soon assume her duties.
In this regard, today Ukraine is actively modernising its economy and expanding the horizons of strategic cooperation with dynamic regions around the world. In this context, the Sultanate of Oman stands out as an important economic partner for Ukraine in the Gulf, said Timur Ridvanov, Charge d’Affairs of Ukraine in the Sultanate of Oman.
Priority areas of cooperation include investments in agriculture, renewable energy, technological innovation, digital transformation, healthcare, logistics, and pharmaceuticals. Ukraine also looks forward to enhanced cooperation with Omani companies in maritime transport, food security, and medical technologies. Deepening economic diplomacy between Ukraine and Oman is a symbolic and meaningful step in the year marking the 34th Anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
The Embassy is confident that strengthened economic cooperation will provide a solid foundation for a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.
