Salalah: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah today to Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq.
The audience took place within the context of the Iraqi PM’s current two-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty the Sultan and the guest also held an official session of talks.
The session reviewed aspects of cooperation and partnership between the two countries in various spheres, particularly in the fields of energy and investment. It also touched on means of promoting cooperation in a manner that serves interests of the Omani and Iraqi peoples.
The talks session was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour), Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals and Sheikh Mahmoud bin Muhanna Al Kharousi, Charge d’Affaires of the Sultanate of Oman’s Embassy in the Republic of Iraq.
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Iraqi side by Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Eng. Hayan Abdul Ghani, Minister of Oil, Atheer Dawood Al Ghurairi, Minister of Trade, Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank, Hamid Al Shatri, Head of the National Intelligence Service, Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Mohammed Al-Najjar, CEO of Iraq Fund for Development and Eng. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, Governor of Karbala.
It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister of Iraq arrived in Oman earlier today. He and his accompanying delegation were received at the private airport in Salalah by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.
Upon his arrival, the guest was escorted by HH Sayyid Shihab to the dais of honor, where the national anthem of Iraq was played.
The guest and his accompanying delegation were also received by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour), Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Mahmoud bin Muhanna Al Kharousi, Charge d’Affaires of the Sultanate of Oman’s Embassy in the Republic of Iraq, senior military officers in the Governorate of Iraq and members of the mission of honour.
