Muscat: The Hadatha Cybersecurity Forum, held at the COMEX 2025 exhibition, reviewed investment in building a national cybersecurity industry, compliance with the highest international standards for providing services and solutions, and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The forum, organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the National Centre for Information Safety, was inaugurated under the auspices of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
Eng. Badr Ali Al Salhi, Director General of the National Centre for Information Safety and Head of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center, stated in his speech that the forum aims to bolster the digital economy and make it a key contributor to the national economy.
He explained that the Cybersecurity Industry Executive Programme is a fundamental pillar of the National Digital Economy Programme due to its pivotal role in strengthening the digital infrastructure, enhancing customer trust, and enabling the national economy to achieve secure and sustainable growth.
He added that the programme also boosts local and global investment opportunities in Oman.
During the forum, the preliminary version of the website for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Centre in Oman was launched.
Another cooperation agreement was signed with the Middle East College to establish the Hadatha Centre. The "Hadatha" Cybersecurity Industry Centres are a national initiative implemented by the National Centre for Information Safety. They target the industrial sector as well as innovators, investors, and academics to create economic opportunities in the lucrative field of cybersecurity.
The forum included several panel discussions that addressed investment opportunities in the cybersecurity sector and the challenges faced by national companies between expansion and innovation. A roundtable session brought together investors and decision-makers to envision the future of cybersecurity as a promising economic sector that strengthens Oman's position as a regional hub in this rapidly advancing industry.
